Our training programs happen in the real world.

A TRUE-TO-LIFE METHODOLOGY

A Dog’s Life Training School takes place in a home populated by adults, children and fellow canines. Our Trainers travel with your dog and conduct lessons in real-world environments: at the park, in the hardware store, surrounded by tempting treats, loud distractions and varying levels of energy. By removing your dog from a sterile environment and taking them out into the world, we can address behaviors that arise in everyday situations — and work to correct them.

OWNER PARTICIPATION & FAMILY TRAINING SESSIONS

On your dog’s Going Home Day — the final day of training — you will be asked to participate in a 1.5 hour training session intended for the entire family. This session is integral in passing-forward the teachings you’ll need to maintain consistently good behavior, and will enable you to utilize the same tools and commands that Angie used while training your dog.

MANDATORY BEHAVIOR EVALUTATION

A mandatory behavior assessment is required in order for Angie to determine the program best fit for the needs of your dog. You will be able to discuss the focus of your dog’s training during this assessment.

Two-Week Board & Training Program

  • Your dog is boarded* for 14 consecutive days with Angie, her family and up to 6 other dogs in-training to facilitate a true-to-life learning environment.
  • For use during on-going training, at the end of the program you will take home: your dog’s cot, leather leash, training collar, command word list, and a video of your dog demonstrating all learned commands with Angie, using visible hand signals.

Important Details:

  • Owners are required to supply dog food to last the duration of their training program, and medications (if required).
  • One going home lesson and a follow-up lesson are mandatory, to be attended by all members of the family, within 3 weeks of going home. The follow-up appointment is crucial to maintain consistent training practices both for the benefit of the dog and their owner(s).
  • Daily rate for extended program (upon advisement) = $130 USD/day
  • All dogs must undergo a behavior evaluation before being admitted into the program. Booking your evaluation is the first step to entering the program.

Success Story
“We originally thought we could handle the training of our Golden Retriever, but our lovable pup clearly needed more than our crazy household could possibly provide in structure for learning the basics. 2 weeks with Angie transformed him, and gave us a solid baseline to start with for OUR training! At the going home appointment, she provides you with a real plan and documentation. Our included follow-up visit this past weekend really helped us, as owners, to integrate the things we needed to focus on and/or change. Plus, it was incredibly reassuring to see our pup excited to see Angie. Bottom line: Intended goal of happy dog, happy family — attained.”

Success Story
“My 12 month old German Shepherd was impossible to walk. He pulled and would turn into Cujo at the sight of another dog. I brought him to Angie and he came back a total gentleman. This is our first day together after 3 weeks of training and this is how our morning walk went: We met a woman working in her garden and stopped to talk. Oz was a total gentleman. Someone walking an Australian Cattle Dog was walking up from behind us but across the street. Oz started to look, I said ‘no’ and that was it. Garden lady was impressed. As we continued our walk we caught up to cattle dog who was still across the street. Cattle Dog turned into Cujo, I said ‘no’ when Oz tried to look and that was it. THANK YOU ANGIE!”
