Our training programs happen in the real world.

A TRUE-TO-LIFE METHODOLOGY

A Dog’s Life Training School takes place in a home populated by adults, children and fellow canines. Our Trainers travel with your dog and conduct lessons in real-world environments: at the park, in the hardware store, surrounded by tempting treats, loud distractions and varying levels of energy. By removing your dog from a sterile environment and taking them out into the world, we can address behaviors that arise in everyday situations — and work to correct them.

OWNER PARTICIPATION & FAMILY TRAINING SESSIONS

On your dog’s Going Home Day — the final day of training — you will be asked to participate in a 1.5 hour training session intended for the entire family. This session is integral in passing-forward the teachings you’ll need to maintain consistently good behavior, and will enable you to utilize the same tools and commands that Angie used while training your dog.

MANDATORY BEHAVIOR EVALUTATION

A mandatory behavior assessment is required in order for Angie to determine the program best fit for the needs of your dog. You will be able to discuss the focus of your dog’s training during this assessment.

Three-Week Board & Train Program

  • Your dog is boarded* for 21 consecutive days with Angie, her family, and up to 2 other dogs in-training to facilitate a true-to-life learning environment. Because we only take a couple of students at one time, each dog gets a lot of individual care as well as extra long field trips to solidify the training in novel environments.
  • For use during on-going training at the end of the program you will take home: your dog’s cot, leather leash,  and the training words list demonstrating all learned commands hand signals.

Important Details:

  • Owners are required to supply dog food to last the duration of their training program, and medications (if required).
  • One going home lesson and a follow-up lesson are mandatory, to be attended by all members of the family, within 3 weeks of going home. The follow-up appointment is crucial to maintain consistent training practices both for the benefit of the dog and their owner(s).

Success Story
“We originally thought we could handle the training of our Golden Retriever, but our lovable pup clearly needed more than our crazy household could possibly provide in structure for learning the basics. 2 weeks with Angie transformed him, and gave us a solid baseline to start with for OUR training! At the going home appointment, she provides you with a real plan and documentation. Our included follow-up visit this past weekend really helped us, as owners, to integrate the things we needed to focus on and/or change. Plus, it was incredibly reassuring to see our pup excited to see Angie. Bottom line: Intended goal of happy dog, happy family — attained.”
